Region: Argolis, Peloponnese
Winery: Domain Skouras
Type: White wine
Grape variety: Moscofilero
Moscofilero is a reddish to red colored (pink-skinned) grape variety that produces quality white wines with opulent aromas: fruity, floral, with crisp acidity.
Moscofilero Skouras is an exceptional dry wine with a vibrant lime green color and intense aromas of citrus, peach, rose petals and violets – intense, refreshing with lively acidity to the nose and palate and a long finish. As an aperitif it offers a special taste experience, but it goes equally well with fish, salads, vegetarian dishes such as artichokes with vegetables (anginares à la polita) or peas with lemon (arakas), and light dishes with white meat.
Moscofilero Skouras comes from the Skouras winery near Argolis (east coast of the Peloponnese peninsula) and is one of the largest wineries in Greece. The winery is located in the Nemea zone, the largest and most interesting production area of the “protected designation of origin (PDO)” quality label for red wines in Greece. Here special wines are created from the red wine variety Agiorgitiko, but also some tasty wines from the white wine variety Moschofilero.
