Organic Hotel Sonnenlink Mani

The Bio-Guesthouse Sonnenlink Mani is located in the middle of one of the most beautiful landscapes in Greece. The dreamlike Mani on the middle finger of the Peloponnese is dominated by the mighty Taygetos mountains with peaks up to 2400 m high, which sometimes slope gently and sometimes abruptly towards the coast. Even the journey getting to the hotel through the lush nature offers a view of the sea and the mountains. About 50 km from Kalamata, the paradise of family Bläuel is idyllically located above the small coastal village of Stoupa.

Organic pioneer in Greece

It all began in the early 1980s when Austrians Fritz and Burgi Bläuel started production of the first organically produced olive oil in Greece. This was long before there was even an EU organic regulation. The first-class olive oil, olives and mezes of the family business MANI, as well as many other organic products from the region, are used today in the vegetarian/vegan organic kitchen of the Sonnenlink in the preparation of meals. Prepared and served in the cozy living kitchen of the Sonnenhaus, MANI products can also be purchased in the company’s own store in Kardamyli.

If you’re looking for a place to slow down, pause and relax, the Sonnenlink is the place for you. The unusual name arose from the desire “to link what brings sun to the heart,” as hotel founder Burgi Bläuel tells us.

She created a place for activities that appeal equally to body and soul. The likeable Austrian has already been living in her adopted Greek country for decades and attaches great importance to personal contact and exchange with her guests. She doesn’t miss any opportunity to warmly welcome newcomers and show them around. Through her many years of experience and her innate ability to connect with other people, she creates a very special atmosphere. You simply feel at home – Austrian charm paired with Greek hospitality certainly make up part of the successful concept.

Numerous excursion possibilities

The Sonnenlink is the first certified organic hotel in Greece. The complex is graced with a large, natural garden that allows wonderful wide views of water and mountains. Again and again, you come across quiet corners, relaxation spots and spaces for meditation. The region is ideal for hiking, as ancient donkey trails and other paths crisscross the area.

The traditional villages of Neochori and Pyrgos are nearby and are ready to be explored on a walk. Also, the picturesque little port of Agios Nikolaos with its fish taverns and cafes as well as fantastic beaches and hidden bathing bays can be reached after only a few minutes by car. The perfect combination of an active and relaxing vacation awaits.

Yoga and music with a sea view

Mani Sonnenlink very successfully combines the lightness of feng shui with the traditional local architectural style. In the center is the Sun House with the open-air theater right next to it – a very central place of the complex. Here already for 10 years, the very successful and in the meantime far beyond Greece borders well-known summer music festivals take place. Numerous international artists give high-class, much-praised concerts about once a week between mid-June and the end of August while the sun slowly sinks into the sea. On the terrace, from May to October, the day begins with Easy Morning Yoga before breakfast. Guests can also enjoy a variety of massage and relaxation treatments.

Vacation with sunshine in summer and winter

The light-flooded apartments and bungalows of Hotel Sonnenlink have been individually furnished and with great attention to detail. They are equipped with modern kitchens, bathrooms and air conditioning, and when it is time to sleep, COCO-MAT mattresses are always a guarantee for restful sleep. The different-sized accommodation units (between 25 and 120 m²) offer enough space for couples, families and small groups. Well-functioning heating and appropriate equipment make the apartments a cozy accommodation even during the cooler seasons. Especially in the winter months a vacation in Mani is a very special experience. While in Central Europe it is mostly wet and cold, here the sun is often shining and the sky is cloudless. During this time it is especially easy to make contact with the locals in the surrounding villages as they have more time and many are happy to talk to guests during the orange and olive harvest.
